Price: $20.00

Boost Your Immune System
Come join us for this supportive yoga class dedicated to building up and supporting your immune system, so that you maintain good health, return to good health, and improve your immune response.

Yoga postures practiced in this class open and expand the chest and thoracic cavity and bring freedom in the diaphragm region.

Benefits include:

  • Calming of the nerves
  • Recovery of physical and mental fatigue
  • Relief from breathlessness
  • Balancing of the doshas (vata, pitta, kapha)
  • Rejuvenation for the brain and body
  • Mental and physical freshness

Yoga helps protect us against Covid-19 by helping us maintain a healthy respiratory, immune, and lymph system. A healthy respiratory system (nasal passageway, nasopharynx, cilia, mucus, and lungs) acts as the body’s first line of defense against invading pathogens and keeps pathogens from entering the body’s blood stream.  A healthy immune system helps our body attack against foreign invaders. A healthy lymph system transports infection-attacking white blood cells to the places in the body that need it most and rids the body of toxins and wastes.

Inversions are essential to support the lymph system. Unlike the circulatory system, where the heart pumps oxygenated blood to the cells of the body and returns deoxygenated blood to the lungs, the lymph system does not have a direct pump to transport the lymph and white blood cells around the body. Hence, inversions assist in the circulation of  the lymph and white blood cells throughout the body.

Pranayama: This yoga class incorporates pranayama techniques, such as alternate nostril breathing and diaphragmatic (belly) breathing, to calm the mind, soothe the nervous system, and optimize the body’s natural healing capacity.

Pranayama (breath work) maintains healthy lungs where gas exchange occurs  (oxygen from the air is transported to the blood and carbon dioxide is eliminated from the blood into the air) and connects us to prana, where vital- life energy is received and given.

Healing Injury? For those who have a history of injury or trauma and notice that the effects of that minor or major injury is beginning to interfere with your everyday life, please note that all of the yoga classes are naturally healing.
