December 5-6, 2020 Zoom On! Yoga Classes

Zoom On! Yoga Classes

Balance  your yang energy (doing/effort) with your yin energy (receiving/effortless) to feel confident, light, and energized.

These classes are designed to help you release any stored pain, anxiety, stress, or tension you may be experiencing so that your vital energy – prana – can move freely through your whole entire body. When your vital energy is flowing freely (not obstructed), you experience positive emotions, revitalized energy, mental clarity, lightness, pain relief, and a sense of overall well-being.

Each class incorporates pranayama techniques, such as alternate nostril breathing and soft belly breathing, to calm your mind and soothe your nervous system.

Healing Injury? For those who have a history of injury or trauma and notice that the effects of the minor/major injuries are beginning to interfere with your everyday lives, please note that all of the yoga classes are naturally healing.

 Zoom On Yoga Classes

  • 12/5  Saturday         Upper Core Strength and Flexibility
  • 12/6  Sunday           Boost Your Respiratory and Immune Health

Saturday, 12/5      Upper Core Strength and Flexibility

This class is designed to relieve upper back and neck pain by relaxing tight muscles. We tone the upper body with yoga asanas that develop strength and flexibility. We utilize our bones and muscles to create joint space so our movement is strong, graceful, fluid, and light.

“The body is composed of bone and muscle. The bones that make up the skeletal frame of the body are attached to each other by joints which are held together by strong ligaments and muscles. A muscle contracts or relaxes to move bones connected to it. Better muscle function means a fitter, stronger body.” Yoga, The Path to Holistic Health, B.K.S. Iyengar

Asanas: Warm-up with a sun salutation and Transformational Work. Asanas include standing poses with actions in the arms, standing and seated twists, forward folds, heart and shoulder openers, and simple inversions.

Sunday, 12/6      Boost Your Respiratory and Immune Health

Respiratory health is your body’s first line of defense to protect you from viruses and pathogens. You have approximately 300 lymph nodes in your head and neck region, whose primary job is to kill off incoming pathogens like the coronavirus and influenza, before they can move deeper into the body. This yoga practice is designed to help boost your body’s natural immune response and immunity, enhance your upper respiratory tracts ability to fight off viruses and disease, enhance your lungs capacity to open up and breathe deeply, and recharge our internal battery (energy) bank.

Asanas: Heart openers, side bends, supported forward folds, simple supported inversions, and restoratives.
