Ustrasana – Camel Pose Facing a Wall


  • Set the short end of your yoga mat at the wall.
  • Set up two yoga blocks near the center of your mat just in case you need them. 
  • Place a folded blanket under your knees and place yourself about 4-5 inches from the wall.
  • Point your toes backward. 
  • If you have a sandbag, place the sandbag on upper calf muscles, and resist the calves up into the sandbag.  
  • Dome the upper torso up and backwards and place your hands either on your feet or the yoga blocks. 
  • Move your shoulder blades towards your ribcage. 
  • Hold the pose for 5-10 soft easy breaths. 
  • As you exit the pose, lead with your heart. 
  • Repeat the pose 5 x.
  • Afterwards, feel the effects of the pose.
  • Relax.
