October 22, 2023 – Synchronicity

Join us for this warming, energizing, and uplifting Sunday morning yoga class!

When: October 22, 2023
Day:  Sunday
Time: 9:00 am -10:30 am (Eastern Time Zone)
Price: $20.00

This yoga class is designed to synchronize the actions in the upper core with the actions in the lower core to access deeper, structural muscles of the torso.

Practicing lateral and medial actions (outward and inward actions) in the body is new to most people because as human beings we typically either walk forward or backwards. It wasn’t until I began training practice in basketball and softball that I started to learn to move laterally and medially (side to side) with crossovers of the legs, and later with the arms.

On Anatomy

Practicing lateral and medial actions in the body, moving outward and moving inward, while matching those actions with forward and backward movements is one of the core teachings in yoga. These lateral and medial actions balance the forward and backward actions in the body thus helping us to access deep and essential core muscles in the body.

These lateral and medial actions are accessed in the body with specific alignment directions, to help us “unlearn” and  “undo” habitual, unbalanced movement patterns (that can cause tightness and atrophy in muscles) and “relear” how to move in a more positive, aligned way that recharges, rebalances, and energizes the body, mind, and spirit.

  • Increase upper and lower core strength
  • Increase range of movement at the hip and shoulder joints
  • Relieve tightness in the hips, hamstrings, and quadriceps
  • Relieve tight muscles in the shoulders, neck, and upper torso
  • Increase abdominal core strength
  • Connect with positive energy flow in the body, mind, and spirit

Pranayama: Alternate nostril breathing

Asanas: Standing postures, Twists, Supported Inversions, Domes, and Forward Folds

Restoratives: Setu Bandha Sarvangasana and Savasana

Healing Injury? For those who have a history of injury or trauma and notice that the effects of the minor/major injuries are beginning to interfere with your everyday lives, please note that all of the yoga classes are naturally healing.

Each yoga class is designed to help release stored pain, anxiety, stress, or tension you may be experiencing so that vital, healing energy – prana – can move freely through the entire body. When vital energy is flowing freely (not obstructed), you experience positive emotions, revitalized energy, mental clarity, lightness, pain relief, and an overall sense of well-being.

Whether you have attended any of my yoga classes in the past or not, you are welcome to attend any or all of these classes.
