Healthy Back Yoga with Kari 
This yoga practice is designed to help you develop core strength in your abs, hips, and torso, so you can relieve pain and tension in your lower back.

By practicing pranayama (breathing techniques) and asanas (yoga poses), we will release stored pain, anxiety, stress, and tension, so that vital, healing energy – prana – can move freely through the body, promoting self-healing.

When vital energy is flowing freely (not obstructed) and you are more relaxed, you experience positive emotions, revitalized energy, pain relief, and an overall sense of well-being.

KEY PLAYERS IN LOWER BACK HEALTH: THE PSOAS AND GLUTEUS MUSCLES

This class is dedicated to strengthening and lengthening the psoas muscles (deep abdominal/spinal attachment muscles), quadratus lumborum muscles (lower back muscles), and gluteus muscles (buttock’s and hip muscles), so you experience pain relief, stand more upright, and feel more confident.

This class addresses the psoas muscles and gluteus maximus muscles. The psoas muscles connect the lower legs to the lumbar (lower back) spine and the gluteus muscles are the strong buttock muscles that aid in propelling the body forward.

These muscles are key players in maintaining lower back heath. Our yoga practice will help you release tension or tightness in these muscles and activate muscles that may have been “tripped off.” When muscles work and tandem and contract, lengthen, and relax accordingly, the pelvic girdle and lumber vertebrae can return to a state of natural upright alignment relieving back pain.

Whether you have attended any of my yoga classes in the past or not, you are welcome to attend any or all of these classes.
