Heart Openers and Domes

This yoga practice is designed to activate the muscles and organs of the torso, arms, shoulder, upper back, and neck, so you can cultivate the strength, confidence, courage, and energy you need to live a heart-centered life.

We will learn how to create a dome shape in the upper spine (thoracic) to create flexibility in this often tight area of the body.

Backbends and twists specifically harness the power of the third chakra (solar plexus), so the flames of your sacred fire radiates upward, to ignite the fourth (heart) and fifth chakra (throat).

This class combines heart openers and domes to help connect you to the power of your solar plexus (third chakra) – where there is sun and fire energy – and move that energy to your upper chakras (fourth and fifth chakras), so that the flames in your belly touch and ignite your heart, breath, spirit, and mind.

My hope is that when you ignite your heart, breath, spirit, and mind, you begin to serve the world in a deeper, more meaningful way that is in harmony with your true, divine nature that is compassion, joy, peace, and love.


  • Create strength and flexibility in your upper spine (thoracic region)
  • Create shoulder blade alignment 
  • Relieve tension in your neck and upper back
  • Relieve tightness in the diaphragm, so that you can breathe deeper
  • Release tightness in the hips, hamstrings, and quadricep muscles
  • Increase abdominal core strength
  • Open your heart to create positive energy flow

Pranayama: Alternate Nostril Breathing 

Asanas: Standing Poses, Backbends as Heart Openers and Hip Openers, Twists, Forward Folds, and Simple Inversions

Restoratives: Setu Bandha Sarvangasana and Savasana

Healing Injury? For those who have a history of injury or trauma and notice that the effects of the minor/major injuries are beginning to interfere with your everyday lives, please note that all of the yoga classes are naturally healing.

Each yoga class is designed to help release stored pain, anxiety, stress, or tension you may be experiencing so that vital, healing energy – prana – can move freely through the entire body. When vital energy is flowing freely (not obstructed), you experience positive emotions, revitalized energy, mental clarity, lightness, pain relief, and an overall sense of well-being.


Whether you have attended any of my yoga classes in the past or not, you are welcome to attend any or all of these classes.


Beginner – with at least 6 months of yoga experience
