Get Your Head on Straight
This class is designed to encourage upright posture. We will practice yoga poses that balance the head and relieve pain in the neck muscles. This practice also encourages the alignment of the shoulder girdle – the thoracic spine, shoulder blades, shoulder joint, arms, elbows, writs, fingers, collar bones, ribs, and sternum – so that we can relieve tension and tightness in the head, neck, and shoulders.
The vertical (upward) thrust of the cervical spine (neck) is crucial for a balanced and relaxed upper body, so that the head, neck, and shoulders can be pain free. Since the nutritional needs of the head, brain, and sense organs travel through carotid and vertebral artery of the neck, alignment of the neck is essential for unobstructed circulation to the brain.

Each yoga class is designed to help release stored pain, anxiety, stress, or tension you may be experiencing so that vital, healing energy – prana – can move freely through the entire body. When vital energy is flowing freely (not obstructed), you experience positive emotions, revitalized energy, mental clarity, lightness, pain relief, and an overall sense of well-being.
